INTRODUCTION ( Estd & functioning)

The “WBSCVT” was set up by the Government in TETSD Department vide memo no 407-TET (Trg.)/ 2E-94/2006 dated 25-08-2010 & was established as a Registered Society on 24-09-2010 for catering to the needs of Vocational Training in the State of West Bengal & functions as a State Agency under the Administrative Control of the Technical Education Training & Skill Development Department with a mandate to implement the Policies of the National Council for Vocational Education & Training (NCVET). The WBSCVT plays the role of a facilitator in the development and up-gradation of the ITIs. Vocational Training under CTS scheme is imparted through 315 ITIs spread across the State. For the CTS courses, DGT is the Awarding Body & Assessment Agency of NCVET.
